Easter 2018

Easter 2018

2,000 years ago the world was changed forever!

Jesus rose up from the grave, alive to continue his mission to reconcile all of creation back to the Father. He had died for our sins and broke the power of sin. And now He defeated death and proved that the grave could not hold him. It is at Easter that we celebrate His great victory over death and look forward to that day when He returns and all of creation enters into new life. Till then, we place our hope in Jesus and trust Him for our now and our eternity.

It just took three years of active ministry for Jesus to complete his earthly mission. His life was focused on one thing – cancel the curse of sin and death that entered the world in the Garden. During his earthly ministry, Jesus revealed the coming Kingdom of God, faithfully expounded and explained the ancient prophecies and promises of God, and invited all who listened to follow him. In his presence hundreds were healed, miracles took place, the impossible became possible. Everywhere He went people experienced the power of God.

The religious leaders of the day couldn’t stand Jesus because He challenged their ideas of God and His will. They wanted justice; Jesus preached mercy. They sought judgment; Jesus forgave sinners. They wanted control; Jesus turned their system of religion upside-down and revealed the Father and his heart. Jesus challenged their cultural systems and He was a threat to everything they held dear. They wanted to eliminate the threat and the inconvenience, but God used Jesus’ suffering and death to unleash the greatest Search + Rescue mission of all time. Jesus was to die for all sin, of all time, for all of creation. BUT THAT WAS JUST THE BEGINNING!

The resurrection of Jesus was the greatest demonstration of the power of God in all of history and is the cornerstone of the Christian hope. But that’s not all, the same power that raised Jesus from the grave is available to his followers today!

Easter – It’s a resurrection story.
It’s a new life story.
It’s Jesus’ story.
It can be your story too!

Join us Easter Sunday, April 1st, at 9:30 am

There will be an Easter Egg Hunt after the service for all the kids (with a separate area for pre-schoolers). The Easter Bunny will also be there for family photos. Great Easter fun and family memories!
