Prayer Partner Update – 11/30/2013

So thankful that you have been supporting us in prayer. We have been consumed with life, work, sharing the Good News and inviting others to join our adventure. We have been thanking God for His goodness to us and you are on that list. We know that your work is critical to our success. You will probably never know the protection or the provision that was provided on our behalf while you prayed but we want you to know we appreciate your faithfulness to us and the expansion of His Kingdom in this place.

Please pray as the Spirit guides you but we would also appreciate you lifting the following up in prayer this week:

Other Local Churches:

There have been two churches that in the last two months have graciously extended us offers that will enable us to expand the team and prepare for a public launch on Easter 2014. Please ask God to bless them for their kindness.

  • Junction Community Church, Pastor Paul Espinoza. They have offered to host the launching of our Celebrate Recovery ministry. Pastor Paul is a passionate communicator of the Gospel and his congregation is a wonderful family oriented fellowship. They have been very welcoming and encouraging to us. Pray that in the coming Christmas season and New Year that their influence and impact in our community will continue to expand. We are looking forward to a long term relationship with this congregation.
  • Downtown Vineyard Church, Pastor Paul Watson. They have allowed us to utilize their youth room on Sunday mornings. We’ve gotten to the place where our homes aren’t conducive to our Sunday meetings or inviting guests. DTV is a relatively young congregation who just recently lost the place that they were renting for their Sunday morning services. I so appreciate the Kingdom mindset of Pastor Paul and his help at this critical juncture of establishing NineSevenZero Church while he is navigating a major change in their church. Please pray that God will continue to guide them in the process of their remodeling project and their next phase of their growth and ministry in the central corridor of Grand Junction.

NineSevenZero Church:

  • We are thankful for the substantial donation of equipment (chairs, tables, A/V, kitchen) by the Rocky Mountain District of the Assemblies of God. In November Steve drove to Lamar, CO, rented a U-Haul truck and drove it all back to Grand Junction. This equipment has changed our planning because we can now look at a larger variety of rental spaces not just places like hotels, schools or theaters and may enable us to actually get into the space that we need for the public launch earlier than expected. This is very exciting!
  • For Kingdom minded folks to recognize the opportunity and join us in our mission by providing the funds necessary to launch NineSevenZero Church.
  • For God to send co-laborers to join our planting & launch teams (Matt 9:37-38). These folks might be residents of the Grand Valley or Kingdom minded folks that would relocate here to help us launch the church. Ministry leaders and faithful/dedicated servants who will labor with us and support the launch of NineSevenZero Church
  • For a Worship Leader – a true and skilled worshipper who will train and build teams. Humble in heart with a teachable spirit and that fits the chemistry of our team and the vision of the church.
  • Another answered prayer is that Robin Carney has agreed to co-lead the Celebrate Recovery ministry with Steve. Christ has greatly impacted his life and heart (and it shows). His testimony will be an encouragement to many. He is currently finishing a degree program in preparation for ministry as a prison chaplain.  Celebrate Recovery will start in January and offer Christ, faith and caring relationships to those that struggle with life-controlling issues. Please pray for us as we work to launch this needed hope restoring ministry in our community.
  • For the launching of discipleship groups in our homes in January/February. For spiritual conversations with those we live among and work with, and the courage to invite them into a deeper relationship.
  • Two couples and two single guys have joined our ranks. There are others that we are praying will try us out now that we are not meeting in homes and can minister to children better. Pray that God will help us to prepare for and invite those that He is calling to become part of His family known as NineSevenZero Church.

Team – Personal Needs:

  • Please pray for continued provision, protection and God’s favor in our community.
  • The demands of establishing ourselves here, family, work and the church launch have us all at max. Please pray for strength, health and discernment in making right decisions.
