NineSevenZero Church Prayer Partner Update – 5/6/2013

We are humbled to know that you are interceding on behalf of the planting of NineSevenZero Church, the team members and our families. No team member or partner is more important than you. Planting a new church is a frontal assault on the gates of Hell and Satan does not give up ground without a fight. We know that these battles can only be won through prayer, fasting and courageous faith and that we are unable in our own strength, abilities and resources to wage these battles successfully. That’s is why we are so grateful for you, our Prayer Partners. Pray as the Spirit guides you but we would also appreciate you lifting the following needs up in prayer this week. THANK YOU!

Updates & Answered Prayer:

  • Nathan and Amanda arrived safely on Saturday and are excited to get integrated into the community.
  • Basic portions/structure of web site relaunched. Check it out at www.ninesevenzerochurch.org
  • Meeting was scheduled with the RMDC Western Slope Church Planting Committee.

Grand Valley:

  • The general population in the Grand Valley is 10% below national averages for expressing any faith preference and over 60 % of the population is either not involved or is only marginally involved in a church.
  • Most of the existing congregations and their clergy are old and do not reflect the generational and ethnic diversity of our communities. While there are a few large church in the valley, most are very small. Most of the newer churches are the result of church splits not planting efforts.
  • The downtown and central portion of the city has no AG church since Grand Junction First Assembly moved out and became Victory Life Church.
  • Favor and opportunity for team members to connect with people in the context of the workplace, marketplace and community service.
  • Area Pastors and Churches:
    • Pastor Paul Espinoza, Junction Community Church
    • Pastor Bob Cook, Victory Life Church
    • Pastor Rex Townsley, Stillwater Cowboy Church
    • Pastor Paris Wallace, Connections Church
    • Pastor Paul Watson, Downtown Vineyard Church

Current Work:

  • Meeting with the Western Slope Church Planting Committee is scheduled for Friday, May 10th. Pray for favor and endorsement.
  • Expanding the Prayer Partners (thru email/direct solicitation and new landing page on web site)
  • Social Media & Web:
    • Team bios & photos
    • Identity Statement updates
    • Facebook church page updates
    • LinedIn church page
  • Building of Strategic Alliances
    • Rocky Mountain District Council of the Assemblies of God – district church plant approval
  • Financial resourcing of the church plant
  • For God to send workers to join our core & launch teams. “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Matt 9:37-38)
    • Worship Leader – a true and skilled worshipper who will train and build teams. Humble in heart with a teachable spirit and that fits the chemistry of our team.

Planting Team Needs:

  • Nathan – starting a new job this week.
  • Steve’s employment – possibility of a day shift at current employer (same pay but he’d have evenings off)
  • Financial provision and protection for the planting team and their families
  • Second vehicle for Steve & Sue (reliable, can travel over the mountains and get to Denver and Salt Lake City)
  • Second vehicle for Nathan & Amanda (reliable, for Nathan to get to/from work)
