Organic Connections: Our Small Groups & Discipleship Triads

At 970 Church, we do not rely on rigid program sign-ups. Our small groups are started naturally by members within the church to find genuine connection, shared prayer, open discussions, and lifelong friendships.

We strongly believe brothers and sisters in Christ need to have connection and a deep level of comfort within the 970 Church community. Because these groups form organically through the relationships made where we gather, new groups are forming all the time!

How We Connect: Group Formats

Depending on the season of life and how your relationships develop, our organic community generally takes two shapes:

  • Organic Small Groups: Casual gatherings of families, couples, or singles who meet in local homes to eat, discuss relevant Bible topics, and stand ready to help each other through life's daily ups and downs. These spaces are designed to encourage personal growth through empowerment; we don't want to hold each other accountable, but rather capable of walking out the unique destiny and calling God has placed on our lives.
  • Discipleship Triads: Micro-groups of exactly three people who meet weekly in coffee shops or living rooms. Because triads go much deeper, they carry a powerful spiritual dynamic. In these close-knit spaces, you can unpack deep Bible topics—like your true identity in Christ, walking in the freedom of your sonship as a child of God, and learning how to share the Word naturally. Because we dive so deep, we place a massive emphasis on this truth: we don't want to hold each other accountable to a list of rules, but rather hold each other fully capable of operating in the power, grace, and anointing that Christ has already placed inside you. Based on the principle that "a cord of three strands is not quickly broken" (Ecclesiastes 4:12), triads allow you to share your deepest struggles and grow rapidly as peers.

Breaking Bread Together: Monthly Church Potlucks

Once a month, our entire 970 Church family comes together outside of Sunday service to hit pause, catch up, and strengthen our community bonds. Our monthly potlucks are a vital time to gather as a church community, share a meal, and build the deep, everyday relationships that keep us connected.

  • Sign Up for What to Bring: We do not require anyone to formally register for the potluck. We just ask that if you plan to bring something, you let us know what you will be bringing. You can sign up in person on Sunday between services, or simply the sign-up button below to open the sign-up form and submit your response. If our Hospitality team has questions or specific needs, they will reach out to you.

  • View Monthly Themes: If you simply want to see the upcoming themes, check out our Events page for all the details.

  • All Are Welcome: Even if you cannot bring a dish, please join us! There is absolutely no pressure. Much like when Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, gave thanks, and broke them to feed the thousands with twelve basketfuls left over (Matthew 14:19-20), we believe God multiplies our fellowship—there is always enough to share and everyone will be satisfied.
