970 Recover Groups are a Christ-centered recovery program. It is a balanced, Biblical program to help people overcome life controlling hurts, addictions and habits. The program is uniquely based on the teachings of Jesus rather than the theories of men. 970 Recover Groups are forward focused, emphasize personal responsibility and encourage spiritual growth.
The issues addressed in these groups fall into three broad categories: suffering primarily as a result of a person’s sin (ex. rebellion, lawlessness & addiction), suffering primarily as a result of a person being sinned against (ex. abuse, infidelity) and suffering primarily as a result of a person living in a fallen world (ex. infirmity, infertility, loss, death).
Groups will utilize a 13-week course entitled, STEPS. It is an intensive discipleship program designed to help you pursue redemption in Christ from sin and suffering by teaching you how to live out the Gospel. Each member of the group is required to purchase a $15 workbook/journal.
These groups give men and women a safe place to pursue redemption in Christ from sin and suffering. We meet for 1.5 hours every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Groups will be meeting in the backroom of The Barbershop (Cuts by Steph), 571 32 Road Unit D (same strip mall that houses Pizza Hut). Childcare will be provided at the church.
