I’m beginning to notice something about our little band that is planting the church. Many (all right most) of us are pretty serious and quite intense as individuals. Loving, serving and living in community – not a problem. It’s just done with great purpose and intentionality. We like to have fun. It’s just that we don’t think to do that first (all right rarely). What we need is a Cruise Director, a Minister of Fun. Are there any party animals out there that are more than just funny and can inspire a bunch of type A’s to play? Planting a church is hard work. It seems to me that we might as well have some fun doing it. We’ll probably think you are annoying but we desperately need you! I should probably mention that there is no pay, no benefits, and your have to supply your own equipment. And that picture above is not exactly what awaits you. We don’t own a cruise ship and we’re not even near the ocean. In fact, we’re in a desert. But the need is real!
