Prayer Partner Update – 9/3/2013

The pace of life has ratcheted up another notch for us. It’s either going to keep me young or burn me out (I’m with Paul either way is good). I don’t think I’ve ever been so completely engaged. I see everything I do and everything around me in the context of the Kingdom. It’s exhilarating and a little scary. I see so much potential and amazing opportunities for the Kingdom here that it’s hard sometimes to focus on the little next steps. I’m sure everyone (particularly Sue) just wishes I had an OFF switch.

We busily preparing for the Essentials Launch church bootcamp training next week. Your prayers have been answered. We all got time off from our employers, our friends at Christian Life Fellowship, Port Edwards, WI, have sent us some funds to offset our travel expenses and the Rocky Mountain District has offered to pay part of the registration fees for the training. We also got our first donation from a non-launch team member last month. God and His people are good!

We’re so grateful for your intercession on our behalf. We absolutely know that we can not do this in our own strength and that we are dependant on your faith-full prayers. THANK YOU! Please pray as the Spirit guides you but we would also appreciate you lifting the following needs up in prayer this week:

Essentials Launch – Church Planting Bootcamp (9/8-13):

Jon, Nathan and I will be traveling to Allison Park, PA (near Pittsburg) to attend the Assemblies of God Church Multiplication Network Essentials Launch church planting bootcamp. Please pray for:

  • Safe travel and for Steve to survive the physical rigors of bootcamp 🙂
  • Our wives and family to be protected while we are gone.
  • Continued forging of our relationship with one another and the alignment of our hearts with Christ and His mission.
  • That we would receive and be able to integrate what we learn with what God has called us to be and do.
  • Networking relationships with church planters and church planting leadership.
  • Clear direction and plans for the next steps in the planting process.
  • That we might also have some fun together.

NineSevenZero Church:

  • For God to send workers to join our planting & launch teams (Matt 9:37-38). These folks might be residents of the Grand Valley or Kingdom minded folks that would relocate here to help us launch the church. Ministry leaders and faithful/dedicated servants who will labor with us and support the launch of NineSevenZero Church
  • Worship Leader – a true and skilled worshipper who will train and build teams. Humble in heart with a teachable spirit and that fits the chemistry of our team and the vision of the church.
  • Co-leader(s) for the Celebrate Recovery support group. A changed life who knows the difference that Christ makes and the power of His Spirit.

Team – Personal Needs:

  • Please pray for continued provision, protection and God’s favor.
  • All of us on the team are struggling with the demands of the workplace and family. With all the changes in our schedules it has been even more difficult for us to find time to be together as a team. My prayer is that out of this season we will not only better understand the demands of discipleship but also how to be successful in this culture and this time.

 NineSevenZero Church Planting Team Members:

  • Steve & Sue Peschke
  • Jon & Kate Drackett (Jackson, son)
  • Nathan & Amanda Haws
